A child’s time capsule, the lunch box contains a series of love letters written over the years that Gracie realizes were written to her. I am the worlds worst at writing reviews. I love reading but transferring my thoughts to let others know why I liked a book so well has always been hard for me.From the very first page I was drawn into this book. It was very easy to be drawn in, and feel like you are right there when the lunch box was found. Watching the tree as it fell over. As the story line progressed, I felt the sadness, the joy, the devastation. I wanted to yell, and scream at times, and other times I was crying.
Unrequited love for a young boy, that breaks your heart. The search for who this young man is now. What type of young man would spend that amount of time writing love letters to some one who has no idea he even walks the planet. The shock when she realizes who the young man is, her memories start to return.
The heart break, the celebration, you can't put the book down.

The Lunch Box D P Brown 9781484089934 Books Reviews
I am a sucker for a good Hallmark or Lifetime Channel movie. Even though predictable, at times, still wonderful to spend a Saturday afternoon watching and getting lost in the story. This is how I felt reading this easily accessible novel, Lunch Box A Love Story.
I was drawn into the story from the beginning and pleased with the ending. I had mixed emotions throughout, so at times I cried, laughed, was angry, revengeful and deep in thought because I could and did identified with this particular love story about a young boy, 10 years old, who grew up loving his childhood "secret" love.
I liked and appreciated the many characters in this story. Jimmy, reminded me of my husband of 39 years, for his ability to turn a phrase with his gifted writing. I swooned!!! Much heart, and love poured out through the written letters to his soul mate Gracie. The family dynamics were believable and so relatable.
I yearned to see more of Jimmy/Gracie's (Weazie/Channy) story, but like a Saturday movie, I'm left to my imagination of how their lives may have continued.
Truly a romantic novel about a forever love. Enjoyed it much and highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed he book. Good dead. Loved the love story that started with the man and not the woman for a change.
It's amazing that such a big story with so much heart could be coaxed out of something as small as a lunchbox. I laughed, I cried, I finished the book, and I called my mom to say hi. Thanks for a great story.
Such a sweet love story with a lot of unexpected teists and turns along the way. Those twists and turns had me rooting for "the cowboy" and left me unsble to put the book down. This is the 2nd book I have read by D.P. Brown and I must say I am really hoping there is another one soon!
I was first hesitant on purchasing this book, but the girl on the cover caught my eye. She has got to be one of the most beautiful women in the world. Also having just finished up DP Brown's first book I couldn't help myself. What I found was that this book was just as enjoyable as the first book. Five stars.
I have been traveling for a couple of weeks and brought along Dan's first book, "Locked Hearts" to read during the trip. After reading it and enjoying that book immensely, I ordered "Lunch Box" and read it as well. What a WONDERFUL story! It was tough to put the book down as the story is so engaging! You find yourself becoming so ensconced in the characters and their lives. Dan is a true story-teller and its obvious, he loves a good love story. There's enough happy, sad and in-between in this book to keep you interested all the way through it! LOVED it and can't wait until the next book!
I didn't know what Lunch Box was about until I began reading. I found it very interesting. At times I expected the predictable, but received the exact opposite! The book is rich with descriptions and I was able to see, in my mind's eye, every scene played out in the book!
It is a wonderful love story, which covers several different conflicts and reveals other love stories as well. I am a hopeless romantic, but I desire to read a believable love story -- and this one fit the bill! I also have a sudden love for horses after reading this book. I have now found a new author to depend on quality writing - the type that you would feel very comfortable taking on vacation and relaxing on the beach, knowing that you will be swept away by the story.
I cannot wait for his next book!!!
